Sub-lethal toxicity and elimination of the cocaine metabolite, benzoylecgonine: a narrative review

چکیده
: Cocaine abuse is a serious global public health and social problem, cocaine detoxification remains challenge. Benzoylecgonine (BE) the main toxic metabolite after consumption, with longer retention time in body environment than itself. According to many studies, toxicity of BE humans as significant Moreover, recognized an addictive drug contaminant environment, especially freshwater system, leading worries its ecotoxicity. Extensive studies on adverse effects both ecology have been conducted, showing marked sub-lethal diverse organisms. To eliminate vivo vitro, various elimination methods developed their removal capacity were evaluated. In this review, we aimed summarize information literature understand better that may facilitate clinical treatment abuse. By studying critical role abuse, propose ideal for should not only detoxify itself but also remove or degrade BE. Emphasizing necessity developing effective development potential treatments environmental protections.
